something else for a moment

Take a minute today to admire something that you believe is beautiful. Something that if for just a moment gives you peace and joy and reminds you that busy is not always best. Because the difference between happy and unhappy might be the time you took to look at these flowers, or read a poem, or drink a cup of coffee.
Write about it or tell someone what it means to you.
Too often we fall into the pressure of working constantly to stay "productive". I know that pressure very well. While others are getting a degree or working a job being paid a steady income I'm perfecting my brand and my service so that I will get hired. But how productive was the day really
when at the end of it you feel like something is missing? Or that you ignored something significant.

It took me until now to understand why people drink a glass of wine at the end of their work day. They are taking a moment to admire something they believe is beautiful.

It's funny how the older I get the less wasteful my life seems. Every day at the end of it means something.

Some of my favorite days are spent working with these sweet blooms. It was only a year ago when I could barely buy a bunch of flowers and would forage as much as I could to create some sort of arrangement to take photos of. Now my home is filled with dried flowers from some of those first arrangements. I feel so blessed to be living these days and sharing them with some of the most wonderful people.

Here's to my little home getting some much needed organizing, meeting some delightful new people, and touching flowers on a daily basis. 

I can tell that 2014 is going to be a great one. There will be a lot of changes in our photography business, several weddings to design and our puppy is going to turn into a huge bear.

Also, my husband is going to be creating a lot of great things like this piece below.

This season is so wonderful. It's full of new traditions, yummy baked goods and days of laying around the house with my sweet family.

Here I am...learning as I go, making a lot of things up, but having a great time.

It's been my dream for a long time to work with flowers but it took me a long time to actually start. Flowers are expensive and I'm self employed so I work with what I can.
